Campus Guide: University of Alabama

Home of the Crimson Tide, the University of Alabama is known for its athletics and several National Championships. Tuscaloosa, however, is much more than a college town with football. The University of Alabama has always been my dream school and when I moved in last year, I knew I had to experience the town to its fullest extent. Here are a few places to eat, drink and explore to get the most out of your stay in the town of the Roll Tide!

Buffalo Phil's * 1149 University Blvd
Located on The Strip, Buffalo Phil's is a great go-to if you're looking for some good food, while watching a game. From their famous wings to burgers and salads, there is a something for everyone. Plus if you're a university student, you can use dining dollars!

Five Bar * 2324 6th Street
Five Bar, located in downtown Tuscaloosa, offers a little more of a "fine dining" experience. Open for brunch, lunch and dinner, enjoy a rotating menu of five appetizers and entrees.

If you are looking to dance to EDM music with strobe lights, Rounders is the place for you. Have your pick of three bars, including a rooftop, to dance the night away.

Enjoy live music and a relaxed vibe at Rhythm and Brews. Located in downtown Tuscaloosa, it is truly a place for entertainment. Enjoy good music (especially when Farmer's Daughter is playing) and take a chance on a mechanical bull!

Hotel Capstone * 320 Paul W. Bryant Drive
Located right off campus, Hotel Capstone is a beautiful hotel for those visiting and wanting to be a walk away. An ideal location for game weekends, this hotel fills up fast, so book early!

Bama Bed & Breakfast * 46 Sherwood Drive
The Bama Bed & Breakfast offers a more personal experience with southern hospitality. Within walking distance of the football stadium, this is also a great choice for game days or a weekend visit.

Game Day
As one of the biggest SEC schools, game day is definitely a special day in Tuscaloosa. Alumni, students, and families gather all around campus cheering on the Crimson Tide. Socialize from the quad to the Greek village, eating, drinking, and playing games before kickoff.

The Strip
The Strip is home to many liked bars/restaurants and a main place for students to socialize. Choose from several different spots in a location right off of campus. Expect a big crowd whether it's day or night, especially game weekends!
